Foundational equine nutrition

Strength that starts at the smallest level.

Amino acids are the building blocks of every protein in your horse — muscle, hoof, coat, gut and immune system. Equine Amino Boost fortifies your horse from the base up, so it can do what it was built to do.

The gap in the bucket

You feed the best hay you can find. It may still fall short.

Most of us feed what we believe is the best food possible — a grass–alfalfa mix, pure alfalfa, some grain or plain pasture. What can be missing are the foundational ingredients called amino acids. When certain amino acids aren’t present, or aren’t in the right balance, deficiencies show up in your horse’s health — often in ways that are easy to blame on something else.

Even good hay can be short on amino acids — the ones a horse cannot make for itself. When they are missing, it shows up as problems easy to blame on something else.

Good hay. Still incomplete. Even bright, well-cured forage can fall short on the specific amino acids a horse cannot make for itself.
01

Under-performance

Working harder than it should to do what used to come easy.

02

Poor hoof quality

Cracks, slow growth and weak walls trace back to structure.

03

Lack of appetite

A gut that isn't supported doesn't ask for its food.

04

Slow recovery

Sore, tired muscles that take too long to bounce back.

05

Dull coat & skin

The finish on the outside reflects the balance on the inside.

06

Frequent illness

A run-down immune system that keeps catching what's around.

Hoof wall and structure Hoof horn is keratin, and keratin is built from amino acids — methionine above all. Cracks, slow growth and thin walls usually trace back to what the protein has to work with.

Bright eye, clean coat Coat sheen, skin condition and a clear, bright eye are the first things to change when the diet is balanced — and the first to dull when it is not.

Made to be worked in

Good tack is built from the inside out. So is a good horse.

A saddle only holds up because of what is under the carving — the tree, the rigging, the stitching nobody sees. A horse is no different. Everything you admire on the outside is built out of protein, and every protein is built out of amino acids.

The science, simply

The building blocks of everything your horse is.

Amino acids link together to form proteins — the muscle, tendon, hormone, enzyme and hoof-keratin that make up a horse. Fix the foundation, and everything built on top of it gets stronger.

1

Amino acids

The smallest building blocks — supplied, or missing, from the diet.

2

Proteins

Aminos link into the proteins that run every system.

3

Muscle, hoof, gut

Those proteins become structure, immunity and repair.

4

A strong horse

Fortify the base and the whole animal performs.

Essential
Cannot be made in the body — they must come from the diet, so balance matters most here.
Conditionally essential
Needed in extra supply during rapid growth, illness or heavy work when the body's stores run low.
Non-essential
Made within the body from other compounds — supported, not replaced, by good nutrition.

What’s inside — full formulation

Ten carefully chosen amino acids — and what each one does.

Nothing proprietary about the reasoning: here is every amino acid in the blend, which of the three classes it belongs to, and the specific job it does in your horse.

A bay mare in a corral, in foal at twenty-four
This Spring I put her on your Amino Boost and she started to look better every week. I was impressed. It worked so good I took her to a stud thinking she will breed once more. She did — having a foal at 24.
